Welcome administrative staff from Portugal “The Second International Staff Week”

Nagasaki University has concluded a consortium agreement with partner universities from Portugal and 12 other countries. The consortium applied an EU scholarship called “Erasmus +” program and it was successfully adopted. Under this support, “Nagasaki University International Staff Week” was held from January 22 to 26. We welcomed Portuguese administrative staff from University of Porto and Universidade NOVA de Lisboa to deepen a friendship between the two countries and to exchange information about the universities.

During the staff week, the participants enjoyed discussing the internationalization of the universities with our staff and joined in a wide variety of activities which were comprised of sessions with our students including exchange students from Porto and a visit to historical places in Nagasaki to learn its culture and history including exchanges with foreign countries such as Portugal.

This staff week was a good opportunity for our university to experience exchanges with the administrative staff from overseas. It was a very meaningful and memorable event for us. The next “International Staff Week” is being planned to hold in May 2018. We look forward to continued collaboration with partner institutes for the promotion of peace and cross-cultural understanding.
