The 15th International Conference on Asian Financial Markets and Economic Development was held as a part of research activities of Faculty’s researcher group.

From November 30 to December 1, the 15th International Conference on Asian Financial Market and Economic Development was held in Beijing Yulong International Hotel (China). This conference was organized by the Faculty of Economics, Nagasaki University, the Faculty of Economics, Shiga University, South Western University of Finance and Economics (China), Beijing Technology and Business University (China) and co-sponsored by University of International Business and Economics (China). This conference has been held once every year since 2005, with presentations by practitioners in the fields of finance, banking and accounting. In addition, this conference is also aiming to develop and construct their research network.

First of all, Professor Hiromasa OKADA, the Faculty of Economics, Nagasaki University, gave the opening ceremony and then papers were presented which covered various topics including M&A and Macroeconomics, Accounting and Auditing, Finance, Corporate Governance, Media and Capital Market and Social Responsibility.

At one of the sessions, professor Masayo SHIKIMI, the Faculty of Economics, Nagasaki University gave a presentation titled “Bank Concentration and Misallocation of Credit: Evidence from Firm Entry and Exit”. Also, Ms. Ling ZHU of Graduate School of Economics presented her research with Professor Yang XU of the Faculty of Economics.

Each presentation was followed by lively questions, and this conference was concluded by the promise of the next reunion.
