President's Special Award Ceremony 2022

On June 28, the President's Special Award Ceremony was held in the Bunkyo Campus of Nagasaki University, where the President presented certificates of commendation and commemorative gifts to the award recipients.
The President's Special Award was established in 2020 to honor those who have made particularly outstanding achievements in education, research, international activities, and medical activities in the previous academic year, as well as those who have made significant contributions to social activities, university administration, and promotion of university reform.
This year, the third year of the program, the President's Special Award was presented to one organization.

President's Special Award Recipient:
COVID-19 Vaccine Project Team

Reason for the award
In response to the government's policy to promote the COVID-19 vaccines at university, a project team was organized by administrative staff selected from the Administration Bureau and University Hospital. Dr. Nishino, Director of the Health Center, was appointed as the team leader. They conducted the mass inoculation program at the university for about eight weeks from July 13, 2021.
Despite their busy regular work schedules, each project team member took responsibility for the Vaccine Project and entirely performed their duties.
This significantly contributes to the local community, providing safe learning and research environment and revitalizing extracurricular activities. The project team's achievement is worthy of special mention.
