Representative of 12 Taiwanese universities visited Nagasaki University and held a Taiwan University Fair

 On December 13th, 2024, 35 representatives from 12 Taiwanese universities (members of the UAAT: University Academic Alliance in Taiwan) visited Nagasaki University to have a collaboration meeting and hold the UAAT Fair. This visit was based on the Memorandum of Understanding on International Cooperation between UAAT and KOOU (Kyushu Okinawa Open University), of which Nagasaki University is a member, and this time the delegation visited Nagasaki University, Kyushu University, Kyushu Institute of Technology, and Kumamoto University. The 12 universities included 6 universities, namely National Taiwan University and National Cheng Kung University, an academic exchange partner of Nagasaki University.
 In the morning, a plenary session was held, centered around flash presentations introducing each university, to promote future collaboration. Attending from Nagasaki University were Trustee Nishida (Strategic Development and Research), Vice President Jiang (International Exchange), Director Tada (Center for Educational Innovation, Office for Academic Education and Development), Aides to the President, Professor Kawabe (Organization for Marine Science and Technology), and Director Hayakawa (Research Promotion and International Affairs Administration Department).
 In the afternoon, the UAAT Fair was held at the Yeh Kuo-Shii Global Friendship Center, with around 100 Nagasaki University students and 50 faculty/staff members participating. At the event, there was interaction between UAAT representatives and Nagasaki University students interested in studying in Taiwan or joint research, as well as Taiwanese students studying abroad at Nagasaki University from UAAT member universities.
 Also, faculty/staff members of Nagasaki University, including the deans, from the Office for  Research Initiative and Development, the School of Global Humanities and Social Sciences, the Faculty of Economics, the School of Medicine, the School of Dentistry, the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, the School of Engineering, Faculty of Environmental Science, the Graduate School of Fisheries and Environmental Sciences, the Graduate School of Integrated Science and Technology, and the Graduate School of Tropical Medicine and Global Health etc., participated in the event and interacted with UAAT representatives actively.
