Research

A heteropolynuclear complex containing the strongest Pt→Ag dative bonds has been synthesized.

The research group of Prof. Keisuke Umakoshi in Division of Chemistry and Materials Science, Graduate School of Engineering succeeded in the synthesis of a luminescent heteropolynuclear platinum(II) complex containing the strongest Pt→Ag dative bonds by supramolecular chemical approach. Very interestingly, the pre-organized cavity of the complex shows reversible formation and cleavage of Pt→Ag dative bonds.
