President Kohno Shigeru Met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine Sergiy Korsunsky

 On Wednesday, July 6, Nagasaki University President Kohno Shigeru and Director Isamu Moriguchi visited the Embassy of Ukraine in Japan and met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Sergiy Korsunsky.

 During the meeting, President Kohno gave an overview of Nagasaki University's acceptance of students from Ukraine. He noted that 19 students have been accepted so far and that interviews are underway to accept up to 40. Nine of them had arrived and were enjoying campus life at  Nagasaki University. The Ambassador said, "Studying in Japan is like a dream come true for them. Thank you for accepting them. I'm sure that their studies will benefit Ukraine one day."

 The Ambassador also asked questions such as "How do you conduct interviews?", "What kind of lectures do the students attend? He listened attentively to the explanation given by Director Moriguchi, who is in charge of the acceptance working group at Nagasaki University.

 At the end of the meeting, President Kohno gave a message to the Ambassador: "Please visit Nagasaki and see the history of Nagasaki, as well as meet and encourage Ukrainian students at Nagasaki University."
