The 4th Nagasaki University Photo Contest

The 4th Nagasaki University Photo Contest is calling for entries in two categories: the "General Category" and the "Nostalgic Photo Category. We look forward to seeing your submissions!

Categories:

General Category (Up to 3 photos per person)

Photos capturing lively moments of students, faculty, and staff at Nagasaki University, such as classes, practical training, research activities, and daily student life.

Photos of students engaged in official matches, events, and joyful activities in clubs and circles, as well as during their dedicated practice sessions.

Photos showcasing the distinctive campus landscapes of Nagasaki University, including characteristic buildings, facilities, trees, flowers, animals, and the changing scenery throughout the seasons.

 

Nostalgic Photo Category (Up to 5 photos per person)

Photos recalling memories of Nagasaki University taken during the 20th century, nostalgic photos from student days, and campus photos.

 

Eligibility: Open to participants worldwide, regardless of nationality

 

Submission Period: From August 7, 2023 to October 13, 2023 (Japan Time)

 

Awards:

General Category

Grand Prize: QUO Card worth 10,000 JPY

Excellence Awards: QUO Cards worth 5,000 JPY each (2 winners)

Honorable Mentions: QUO Cards worth 3,000 JPY each (3 winners)

 

Nostalgic Photo Category

Special Award: QUO Card worth 10,000 JPY

 

Submission Requirements:

Regardless of the type of camera equipment used, both color and monochrome photographs in either portrait or landscape orientation are accepted. We are seeking entries that meet all the following criteria:

(1) The photograph must be related to Nagasaki University.

(2) For the "Nostalgic Photo Category," the image must have been taken between 1901 and 2000.

(3) The submission must be an original work taken by the applicant themselves.

(4) If the subject of the photograph is a person, the applicant must have obtained consent from the individual (subject). For subjects who are minors, the consent of their legal guardian is required.

(5) The photograph must not have won any awards in previous contests or similar competitions.

(6) The content of the photograph must not violate any laws or public decency.

 

Result Announcement and Awards Ceremony:

The awards ceremony for the General Category will be held during the 'Homecoming Day 2023' event at Nagasaki University on November 4, 2023 (Saturday), and the award for the "Nostalgic Photo Category" will be selected by votes of Homecoming Day participants.

The results of both categories, including the Nostalgic Photo Category, and the submitted works will be posted on the website at a later date.
