Director Dan Smith of the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute Pays a Courtesy Call on President Nagayasu

　Director Dan Smith of the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) paid a courtesy call on President Nagayasu on March 11, 2024.
　Director Smith came to Nagasaki to speak at an international symposium related to global risks which was held the day before hosted by the Interdisciplinary Research Group in Nagasaki University. The day after the symposium, he paid a visit to President Nagayasu where they discussed the Nagasaki University 2024 Action plan and its similarity to SIPRI’s initiatives. Director Smith expressed a sincere interest in working with Nagasaki in the field of global risk and security.
　With Director Yoshida of the Research Center for Nuclear Weapons Abolition facilitated discussion in attendance, a very fruitful discussion was held.
