This course will be held in 11-13 March, 2020 in Kawauchi Village, Fukushima Prefecture. It is for post-doc students and young professionals involved in research or preparedness concerning the recovery process after a nuclear accident.
The course is based on the Nagasaki University experience in the Futaba district of Fukushima Prefecture related to the involvement of affected people by the accident at the TEPCO nuclear power plant on 11 March 2011. It is organized in the context of the capacity building project in the field of disaster and radiation medical science led by the Nagasaki University as part of the Fukushima Innovation Coast Framework (http://www.pref.fukushima.lg.jp/site/portal-english/en03-06.html). It aims at establishing an intelligent exchange platform in the Hamadori coastal region of Fukushima related to radiological protection.
This is organized by Nagasaki University in cooperation with Fukushima Medical University, Fukushima University, Higashi Nippon International University and the International Commission on Radiological Protection (ICRP).
The course consists of presentations by Nagasaki University Professors and interviews with local stakeholders having actively participated in the recovery process in Kawauchi Village and Tomioka Town.
