Discussion between H.E. Ambassador Okaniwa Ken of the Embassy of Japan in Kenya and Nagasaki University delegates

On July 12, 2023, Nagasaki University staff were invited to the official residence of H.E. Ambassador Okaniwa Ken, the Embassy of Japan in Kenya to have a meeting.

President Kohno Shigeru, Prof. Kaneko Osamu, Dean of the Institute of Tropical Medicine, Prof. Kaneko Satoshi, Executive Advisor to the President (Research at Overseas Stations) and Director of Kenya Research Station, and Deputy Director Inoue Shingo attended the meeting and widely exchanged views on the future initiatives and activities of Nagasaki University in Kenya.

This year marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Kenya. H.E. Ambassador Okaniwa gave high praise for the various initiatives and achievements of Nagasaki University in Kenya, beginning with the dispatch of a medical mission in 1966, and expressed his high expectations for the University.
