Prof. Lay Myint Yoshida, Institute of Tropical Medicine, received "Certificate of merit award" from the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa Province, Vietnam.

 On January 26, 2024, Professor Lay Myint Yoshida (Department of Pediatric Infectious Diseases), Institute of Tropical Medicine, received the "Certificate of merit award" from the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa Province, Vietnam. This award is given to the overseas organizations and individuals who have contributed to Vietnam's socioeconomic development and the health and welfare of the Vietnamese people. Seven individuals and six organizations, including Prof. Yoshida, received the award this year.
 Professor Lay Myint Yoshida received the award from Mr. Nguyen Tan Tuan, Chairman of the Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee, at a ceremony held on January 26, 2024. Mr. Nguyen Tan Tuan thanked Professor Yoshida for his "active contribution to the health sector and medicine for the Vietnamese people".
 Professor Lay Myint Yoshida has participated in the Vietnam Research Project since 2006, conducting cohort studies on pediatric respiratory infections and mother-to-child infections in the field of Khanh Hoa Province, and working closely with the Vietnamese Ministry of Health and Khanh Hoa Provincial Health Authorities to strengthen Vietnam's public health. Through these activities, he has made significant contributions to the improvement of public health in Vietnam, and was honored with this award.
