Ass. Prof. Gregory N. Nishihara, the Organization for Marine Science and Technology, was awarded a fellowship from the Pew Fellows Program in Marine Conservation. Pew's Fellowship in Marine Conservation is annually awarded to outstanding global leaders or teams who are working to preserve and protect the world's oceans and marine species. 164 specialists from 38 countries have been made a fellow. He is the third from Japan. Ass. Prof. Nishihara starts to combine research and a community-based approach to encourage restoration, conservation, and management of seaweed ecosystems in Shinkamigoto, Nagasaki.For further information: Pew marine fellows 2018 |
