Agreement on Academic Cooperation between Center of Nuclear Medicine and Oncology of Semey and Nagasaki University

At the completion of the master class "Innovative approaches in diagnostics and treatment of oncological diseases" in the program of "Professional development and retraining of personnel" by the East Kazakhstan region Administration on October 31, 2018, a signing ceremony for the Agreement on Academic Cooperation between Nagasaki University (President, Dr. Shigeru Kohno) and the Center of Nuclear Medicine and Oncology of Semey (Director, Dr. Marat Sandybayev) took place.

The agreement is concluded for further and sustainable development of bilateral cooperation in academics and education through bilateral lectures and symposiums along with the implementation of joint research projects. The cooperation also includes support in introduction of innovative technologies in the field of oncology and nuclear medicine.

In the signing ceremony, N.V. Sharova, the Deputy Mayor of Semey City, expressed her hopes for further cooperation, and awarded the Certificate of Honor to Professor Masahiro Nakashima on behalf of the Mayor of Semey City.

Dr. Marat Sandybayev also awarded his Letter of Appreciation to the special lecturers from Nagasaki University: Professor Daisuke Niino and Assistant professor Zhanna Mussazhanova, respectively.

"For our center, this is a huge step forward and we are very pleased that one of the leading universities in Japan chose us for a partner and concluded the agreement at this ceremony, which certainly has great importace for both us, the Center of Nuclear Medicine and Oncology of Semey and Nagasaki University", noted Dr. M. Sandybayev in his speech. The event was closed with interviews with local press and TV.
